Helping Those in Uniform

Royal Farms maintains a longstanding tradition of supporting those in uniform and their families; active duty and retired members in each branch of the Armed Forces, as well as members of our police, fire, EMTs, emergency personnel and other "First Responders."

Members of local, county and state police, fire and EMTs receive VIP invitations to our ribbon cuttings. As our way of saying, "Thank You for Serving," Royal Farms donates to local causes which support those in uniform and their families, such as to Volunteer Fire Companies, Fire Training Facilities, Law Enforcement Explorer Posts, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), the Wounded Warrior Projects, and the USO.

Here are a few stories of worthy causes which we support:

Coffee with a Cop
Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together-over coffee-to discuss issues and learn more about each other. We've hosted these events at our stores in Delaware and Virginia. If you're interested in hosting an event like this in your community, please reach out to us!

Box 414 Association
We donated $1,000 to maintain a fleet of trucks run by the all-volunteer "Box 414 Association" which keeps members of the Baltimore City Fire and Police Departments comfortable and refreshed by parking trucks at the scene of major fires and which contain a mobile snack bar and mobile bathroom facilities. 414 is named after the fire museum's address, at 414 North Gay Street, Baltimore. Many counties have "Canteen" trucks, which operate through donations.

We donated to the "Box 414 Association" in honor of our ribbon cutting in Baltimore, and were honored that so many representatives of the Mayor, City Council, and Baltimore Police and Fire Departments celebrated with us!

Firefighters from Adams County, PA just over the Maryland line, must leave the area for training, and aren't around in the case of disasters. When we opened in Littlestown, PA, we donated to fire training facility building fund through the Adams County, PA Volunteer Emergency Services Association.

Adams County, PA Firefighters hope to construct a fire training facility like this.

Delaware USO
The Delaware USO cares for the needs of families of fallen soldiers who are flown to Dover to receive and accompany home, the remains of their loved ones who have given the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country. Families and Honor Guards are provided meals on base while waiting for the flights to arrive, but always appreciate when the USO provides them with snacks, drinks and gift cards for toiletries and essentials as needed. At our Dover, Delaware ribbon cutting, the USO received a $1,000 donation, plus the keys to a rented U-Haul truck which was filled with 144 cases of Royal Farms water bottles, 50 cases of Royal Farms nuts, and cases of items from Utz, Krispy Kreme, Nestea, TastyKake, Honest Tea, Muscle Milk, and from our neighbors at the Kraft Food facility across the street from the new Royal Farms!
